Cryptid Hunter Force

What Is A Hunter

The definition of a hunter is a person or animal who hunts. The Cryptid Hunting Force (CHF) is a global network dedicated to tracking, studying, and, if necessary, neutralizing cryptids that pose a threat to society. Our primary goal is to protect humanity from these hidden monsters and preserve the delicate balance between known and unknown.

When Did The Cryptid Hunter Force Start

The CHF was born out of necessity. In 1720, Agon Sand, one of the earliest cryptozoologists, faced a night of terror as a pack of unicorns—creatures once thought to be myths—ravaged his village. With his family and many townspeople lost, Agon rallied a group of skilled hunters and formed the CHF. What began as a small community’s fight for survival has since grown into a global network of hunters, all committed to keeping the cryptid threat at bay.

Roles Within The CHF

In the CHF there are many roles ranging from tracker, Researcher, Scout, Tank, and Medic. Each play an important role in a hunting team.

-Trackers are skilled in locating cryptids, using everything from traditional survival techniques to cutting-edge GPS and thermal imaging. They chart cryptid migration patterns, identify lairs, and ensure hunters know exactly what they’re up against.

-Researchers dig into cryptid lore, studying old legends and analyzing cryptid behaviors and biology. They provide critical insights that give the CHF an edge, ensuring hunters know a cryptid’s weaknesses, habits, and possible defenses.

-Scouts are agile, stealthy, and fast, often tasked with reconnaissance missions deep in cryptid territory. They gather on-the-ground intelligence without engaging, often risking their lives to gather critical information for future hunts.

-In the field, a Medic’s role is vital, as encounters with cryptids are often dangerous. Medics are skilled in emergency medicine, able to handle injuries from venomous bites to claw wounds, keeping hunters fit for the fight.

-Tanks are the heavy-hitters of the CHF, stepping in when raw strength and resilience are needed. They’re often at the front lines, providing a shield for the rest of the team and taking on the most aggressive cryptids head-on. Tanks are equipped with heavy armor and specialized weapons designed to withstand even the toughest cryptid attacks.

Hunter’s Toolbox: Essential Gear

Every hunter in the CHF knows that the right tools can mean the difference between life and death. Here’s a look at the standard items in a hunter’s arsenal, each carefully chosen for its effectiveness against specific cryptid threats.

-Special Salts: Often used in protective circles or sprinkled in areas to deter cryptid entry, these salts are infused with a mixture of rare minerals and herbs known to repel or weaken certain cryptids. Hunters also use them to block paths, trap cryptids, or create safe zones during missions.

-Silver Ammo: Essential for hunting cryptids sensitive to silver, such as werewolves or certain types of shape-shifters. These rounds are carefully crafted and often hand-loaded to ensure they pack enough power to penetrate tough hides or armored scales.

-Night Vision Goggles: Many cryptids are nocturnal and favor dark or low-visibility environments. Night vision goggles allow hunters to see clearly in darkness, ensuring that they aren’t caught off-guard by sudden movements or attacks from lurking cryptids.

-Iron Shackles: Many cryptids are resistant to conventional restraints but react strongly to iron. These shackles are used to immobilize cryptids during capture missions, either for study or safe relocation.

-Antivenom Kit: Certain cryptids have venomous bites or stings, and quick treatment is essential. The CHF equips hunters with antivenom for common cryptid toxins, as well as a general antidote for less-known poisons. Medics often replenish this kit based on recent cryptid sightings.

These are just some of the many items that will help you in your journey as a hunter.
